- "First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be offered to God for all people; for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life with all reverence toward God and with proper conduct. This is good and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to know the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (GNB)
I want to make God happy, so when the Bible says; "This is good and pleases God" I reckon it's a good piece of advice to take.
This week as everything gets to a fresh normal, we pray for Boris Johnson and Dominic Cousins as they attempt to attempt to open the Civil Service up to consider new ideas. Anyone who has been involved in proposing change knows how difficult it is to explain oneself and make oneself clear. It is as if there is a spirit making life difficult, that is what Jesus experienced all of his life of proposing how a simple change of mind from complacency to hope would benefit his whole society.
Our intercession will bind that voice so the individuals can consider ideas on their merits. Then we pray for wisdom so those who make decisions will consider the distant future as well as the immediate. Then we pray for boldness and cooperation for all tasked with carrying out necessary changes.
