Revival in the Christian Faith and VE75

Mark 13:32-33 NKJV
Jesus said; "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

For a number of reasons calculated not prophetic, God may be preparing to release the revival many have prayed for to those Congregations prepared to equip the many new saints we hope for. This will be on the weekend of May 9 & 10 after the celebrations for the 75 the anniversary of VE Day. Then during the three weeks following may be an auspicious time to organise a concentrated Evangelistic Event in preparation for the Pentecost celebrations on 30 May.

This is based on a family anecdote; throughout the course of the Second World War, my mother joined many people praying daily for a successful outcome of the war. As a nurse at the Royal London Hospital among her patients were a few still suffering the results of the First World War and she wanted an end to hostilities. Long story short, on VE Day she went to Church expecting to find a crowd giving thanks but to her horror, only a few people went to give thanks, most she discovered later, went to Central London to join in the partying we see on the newsreels.

We have had 75 years or 3 generations of very few prayers being answered. The heavens have been like brass or bronze and many have responded by rejecting God and leaving Church. I do not reckon that was the response God wanted! Psalms 14 is repeated at Psalm 53 to emphasise it’s importance. God is hoping people will search for the reason behind unanswered prayer.

Psalm 14:1-2,7 NIV
[1] The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
[2] The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

[7] Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

A meeting over the air: called to pray for the nation

This blog is to be a place where my outline prayers for the UK our homeland are recorded. The Bible says:

  • "First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be offered to God for all people; for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life with all reverence toward God and with proper conduct. This is good and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to know the truth."  1 Timothy 2:1-4 (GNB)

I want to make God happy, so when the Bible says; "This is good and pleases God" I reckon it's a good piece of advice to take.

This week as everything gets to a fresh normal, we pray for Boris Johnson and Dominic Cousins as they attempt to attempt to open the Civil Service up to consider new ideas. Anyone who has been involved in proposing change knows how difficult it is to explain oneself and make oneself clear. It is as if there is a spirit making life difficult, that is what Jesus experienced all of his life of proposing how a simple change of mind from complacency to hope would benefit his whole society.

Our intercession will bind that voice so the individuals can consider ideas on their merits. Then we pray for wisdom so those who make decisions will consider the distant future as well as the immediate. Then we pray for boldness and cooperation for all tasked with carrying out necessary changes.
